Dear women!
I sincerely congratulate you on a wonderful spring holiday - International women’s day of the 8th of March!
In our country women make the majority of population, and this holiday has become a national celebration and obtained great social significance.
This spring holiday brings inexhaustible reserve of goodness and optimism. Woman is the whole world, there is always a spare place for love and beauty, spiritual maternal feeling and cosy hearth. Women’s beauty, mind, talent and charm have been glorified for thousands of years. Congratulating our women today, our wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters, we are trying to find most tender words for them.
Today we cannot imagine any social or state sphere without women. Women’s contribution in economy, education, health care, culture and science of Tatarstan is huge. We are obliged to you for our achievements in industrial, agricultural and business spheres.
Elderly women who overcame hard times of the country’s recovering deserve special appreciation and gratitude. When looking at our women veterans we make sure that ordeals did not break them down, their hearts and spirits are still full of warmth and generosity they give to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Social activity of women increases year by year, their participation in political life, work of state authorities and local self-government becomes more important. Our women display initiative, positive attitude to creative work and high responsibility for results of their work on various posts.
We, men should always remember that women are our priceless heritage we must cherish and take care of. We sincerely thank you, dear women for your warm mothers’ hands and loving hearts. Let your life be full of kindness, tenderness, love, care of your relatives and friends. I wish you happiness, peace, health and wellbeing!
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
