Opening the event RT President marked that transport sector plays an important role in economic development of the republic. “We have to weigh our needs for cargo transportations with available carrying vehicles and the transport development program,” he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the need for cargo transportations would be growing due to the fixed task on increasing production volume to 2 trillion roubles by 2016.
The volume of cargo transportations will also enhance in connection with development of JSC “KAMAZ”, “Kazanorgsintez”, “Nizhnekamskneftehim”, and expansion of special economic zone “Alabuga”. Thus, we need a systemic approach to cargo transportations, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Representatives of non-commercial partnership “Logistics and road transportations of Tatarstan”, who initiated today’s meeting, told about current problems and offered their solutions.
President of non-commercial partnership Leonid Steinberg told about the February’s meeting of the partnership members dedicated to urgent issues of the industry (see more- http://www.business-gazeta.ru/article/54624/ ).
One of the main problems faced by cargo carriers is preparation of qualified personnel able to drive heavyweight trucks.
Moreover, Leonid Steinberg suggested developing a program so that members of the partnership can purchase vehicles produced by “KAMAZ”, joint enterprise of KAMAZ and Daimler AG subject to loan conditions.
Rustam Minnikhanov addressed relevant ministries (RT Ministry of education and science, RT Ministry of labour and social protection) with request to consider the issue on preparing drivers for heavyweight trucks in accordance with the market requirements.
Besides, in opinion of RT President, RT Ministry of transport and road construction and RT Ministry of industry and trade should establish closer interaction with “Logistics and road transportations of Tatarstan” in terms of renewal of carrying vehicles and providing orders for carriers.
