Volume of private investments made in SEZ “Alabuga” to exceed 1 bln dollars in first quarter of 2012

By the end of first quarter of 2012 total volume of private investments made in implementation of projects at special economic zone “Alabuga” will exceed 1 bln US dollars. Such a data was presented today by Director general of JSC “SEZ PPT “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev at a briefing in the House of RT Government.

He reminded that on March, 8 the Supervision board of SEZ “Alabuga” chaired by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov recommended four companies for awarding the resident status of SEZ. They are OOO “Armstrong Building Products” - a world leader producing flooring, metal, wooden, mineral fibre ceilings, suspended systems, OOO “RMA Rus” - producer of ball valves for oil and gas producing industry, OOO “EcoTechnologies-Alabuga” – processor waste tyres, and OOO “East Bolt Elabuga” - producer of bakery goods.

OOO “Armstrong Building Products” is going to invest 2,3 bln roubles in construction of a modern complex for producing ceiling plates from mineral fibre with production capacity of 22 mln m² of production.

Production of OOO “RMA Rus” will be used by enterprises of oil and gas industry. Volume of investments will make 1,7 bln roubles.

OOO “EcoTechnologies-Alabuga” will process 23,5 thousand tons of waste tyres into high-quality granulate. Investments into the project are to make 403 mln roubles.

OOO “East Bolt Elabuga” will invest 215 mln roubles. OOO “Heavy Logistics Elabuga” and McDonalds chain of restaurants will become the company’s partners in a production-logistics network.

Timur Shagivaleev informed that awarding the resident status to the new companies, there will be 29 companies at SEZ. Volume of announced funding will make 84 bln roubles.

According to the data provided by Timur Shagivaleev private investors have now invested 25 bln roubles in realization of projects at SEZ. Necessary infrastructure is already provided at a half of the total area of SEZ.
