First session of Coordination council on industry held in Kazan

First session of Coordination council on industry was held in Kazan on March 15. Acting RF Minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, regional ministers of industry, chiefs of large industrial enterprises attended the session themed “On developing mechanisms of complex support of high-tech export produce” at the Kazan helicopter plant.
The Coordination council on industry was founded on October 31, 2011 in accordance with the order of RF Ministry of industry and trade. The main activities of the council are complex and systemic development of interregional cooperation in industrial sphere, realization of state modernization policy and innovative development of domestic industry, increase of investment potential of Russian regions. The council now comprises representatives of 12 Russian regions, but soon number of presented subjects is to be expanded.
Opening the session Denis Manturov thanked Tatarstan leadership for high level of organization of the event. He also informed about readiness to expand composition of the event.
Denis Manturov believes that exchange of experience must be implemented on a regular basis. “We have to meet once in 2-3 months and use this venue in order to convey information about state regulation of enterprises, use experience of colleagues, take their suggestions into account for making regulatory structure, and developing potential of industrial enterprises,” Denis Manturov stressed. By his words, next session will be dedicated to quality management and lean production.
Speaking about the current session, Denis Manturov reminded about forthcoming entry of Russia in World trade organization. “We must prepare our industry for conditions opened up while entering this organization, work out measures of state support that will provide competitiveness of our produce,” he said.
Chairman of ZAO “State specialized Russian export-import bank” board Nikolay Gavrilov and Director of JSC “Russian agency for insuring export loans and investments” Pyotr Fradkov made reports about the system of supporting non-resource exporters being created in Russia.
Commenting on their reports Denis Manturov marked that Russian enterprises do not always use available measures of state support. Acting RF Minister of industry and trade urged the regions to take an active part in programs on export state support.
Coordination of industrial development of Russian regions aimed at avoiding unnecessary competition and establishing efficient economic interaction among enterprises from various Russian regions was also discussed at the meeting.
In the interview after the session Denis Manturov and Rustam Minnikhanov highly appreciated the idea of creating Coordination council.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
