State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman Guardian board of the Republican Fund for revival of historical and cultural monuments Mintimer Shaimiev is on a working trip in the Republic of Greece, province Central Macedonia on March 27-28, 2012.
Main purpose of the trip is visit to archeological museums, acquaintance with historical landscape, traditions and experience in preserving objects of historical heritage and cultural management, study of unique activity of specialists of Central Macedonia on conservation, restoration and museumification of archeological monuments in order to use their experience in restoring old town of Bolgar and island town Sviyazhsk.
The Tatarstan delegation was met by first vice-governor of Central Macedonia Konstantinos Karapanagiotidis, Director of UNESCO Greek department for preserving architectural monuments Avraam Kassiteridis, President of touristic concern “Ambotis” Georgy Kurtidis, Consul-general of Russia in Thessalonika Aleksei Popov in the airport of Thessalonika city, the capital of Macedonia and the second largest city in Greece.
The delegation is going to visit archeological preserve Dion, ancient city Stagira, archeological museums of Vergina city, Roman Agora in Thessalonika, Olynthos on Halkidiki peninsula. A meeting with the governor of Central Macedonia is to be held as well.
Mintimer Shaimiev is accompanied by Aide to RT President on social issues, CEO of the Republican Fund for revival of historical and cultural monuments Tatiana Larionova, Chairman of Russian national committee of world cultural and natural heritage under RF Commission on UNESCO affairs Igor Makovetski, Director general of GUP “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Adel Khusnutdinov, Director of GBU “State historical-architectural and art preserve museum “the Kazan Kremlin”, Director of history institute of K(V)FU Ramil Khairutdinov, Head of Volga branch of UNESCO department on preserving architectural monuments Rafael Valeev.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
