Ildar Khalikov and President of Travel Company “Ambotis” Georgy Kurtidis discuss opportunities for cooperation in tourism sphere

Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and President of the Travel Company “Ambotis” (Greece) Georgy Kurtidis discussed opportunities for cooperation in the sphere of tourism and culture.
The meeting was held in the RT Government House with participation of RT State Counselor, Chairman of the Guardian board of the Republican fund for revival of historical and cultural monuments Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, RT Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, Aide to RT President on social issues, CEO of the Republican fund for revival of historical and cultural monuments Tatiana Larionova.
Welcoming guests, Ildar Khalikov marked that the meeting was initiated by Mintimer Shaimiev who visited Greece on March 27-29, 2012 for studying outstanding archeological monuments of the Central Macedonia and their preservation.
“You have wide experience in tourism sphere, preservation, restoration, and museumification of archeological and architectural monuments. Such professional contacts and knowledge are useful for Tatarstan specialists,” Ildar Khalikov said.
He told as well about realization of several important projects in republic aimed at development of tourism sphere, reconstruction and revival of historical and architectural monuments.
First of all, a major project “Cultural heritage: ancient city of Bulgar and island- town Sviyazhsk”. The project implies preservation, revival and passing of precious monuments of history, unique architecture and spirituality to future generations. The State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve the “Kazan Kremlin” is another monument of architecture and history.
RT State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev marked that Tatarstan and Greece would likely find spheres for mutually beneficial cooperation.
In particular, Ildar Khalikov suggested organizing exchange of business delegations for studying spheres of potential cooperation. Moreover, air communication with Greece, i.e. decrease of the number of flights especially in tourist season, is of special interest for republic.
President of the Travel Company “Ambotis” Georgy Kurtidis thanked for organization of the meeting and expressed interest in cooperation. In addition, he noted that Tatarstan’s respectful attitude to revival of historical and architectural monuments inspires respect of specialists.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
