Rustam Minnikhanov: We must treat employees of law enforcement agencies stricter

Tatarstan leadership admits existence of problems in the system of republican law enforcement agencies and is ready to render maximum help to solve them. Such a statement was made by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting on results of inspection of organization of anti-crime work and supervision for observation of laws by the interior agencies in RT Prosecutor's office.
The meeting was held by deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Sergei Zaitsev.
RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, heads of republican law enforcement structures attended the meeting.
Sergei Zaitsev informed that the commission of General Prosecutor’s Office started working in republic after the facts of law-breaking in relation to citizens by employees of law enforcement agencies were revealed.
Members of the commission visited best part of regions in Tatarstan and met with citizens. “Today, in presence of deputy Prosecutor General we decided to discuss painful problems and take measures to prevent such situations in future on the Tatarstan land,” Sergei Zaitsev said. He also underlined the importance of results of the inspection.
“Presence of the Tatarstan President in this hall emphasizes acuteness of the problem and responsibility of all RT law enforcement agencies,” deputy Prosecutor General said.
Sergei Zaitsev stated that multiple systemic violations committed by employees of the interior bodies, investigation departments and prosecutor's staff had been revealed in republic. “Our inspection was based on our will to find out reasons of such incidents,” deputy Prosecutor General stressed. He urged attendees of the meeting to take an active part in the discussion.
Chief of the Department of RF General Prosecutor’s Office in VFD Vadim Antipov reported on outcomes of work of the commission of General Prosecutor’s Office in Tatarstan.
RT President Rustam Minnikhanov admitted facts of law-breaking in the republican interior bodies with regret. He thanked the commission and Sergei Zaitsev personally for work implemented in Tatarstan.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
