A project office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization can be opened in Kazan. Issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and the UNIDO have been discussed today at a meeting of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov with Director of the Center of international industrial cooperation of the UNIDO in the Russian Federation Sergei Korotkov.
The Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov, vice-premier - Head of RT Cabinet Staff Shamil Gafarov, vice-premier – minister of energy Ilshat Fardiev, vice-premier – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and heads of other ministries attended the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov marked that Tatarstan is the industrial republic and it displays interest in cooperation with the UNIDO. The Head of republic reminded that the memorandum on cooperation between the UNIDO and RT signed in 2009 gave impetus to fruitful joint work.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes that cooperation between Tatarstan and the UNIDO should be consolidated, and republic is interested not only in attraction of investments by means of the UNIDO but in wide experience of members of the organization.
Director of the Center of international industrial cooperation of the UNIDO in the Russian Federation Sergei Korotkov told about several projects meant to be realized in Tatarstan under the auspices of the UNIDO. He added as well that to develop cooperation a project office of the UNIDO should be opened in Kazan.
The Tatarstan President supported the idea and gave assignment to set up measures needed for opening the office.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
