Chief Architect of Barcelona Jose Acebillo presents the project of “District B” development in the historical center of Kazan

The project of “District B” development in the historical center of Kazan has been presented today to President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting in the RT Government House with participation of Chief Architect of Barcelona Jose Acebillo.
RT Minister of construction, architecture and housing Irek Faizullin reported on prehistory of “District B” development.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin marked that the territory of “District B” is important for Kazan as the junction with the city center. There are not any obligations connected with maintenance of historical objects on this territory.
He also reminded that the first project was offered by the studio of Chief Architect of Barcelona Jose Acebillo in 2007. The project was presented at different international architectural exhibitions and aroused interest of specialists.
In general, the project offered by Jose Acebillo includes such objects as houses, kindergartens, hotels, offices, galleries, underground parking, and other elements of infrastructure.
Chief Architect of Barcelona Jose Acebillo made more detailed presentation of the project. He told that historical architecture of the city, climate conditions and other factors were taken into account.
Chief of the Department of urban development of the Kazan university of architecture and construction, member of the RF Guild of architects Aleksei Dembich and other specialists expressed their opinions about the project.
Summarizing results of the meeting, RT President Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Jose Acebillo for fulfilled work and personal presentation of the project.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
