1 June 2012, Friday
Dear meliorators of the Republic of Tatarstan!
I sincerely congratulate you on the 90th anniversary of melioration industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Meliorators are professionals who work to create fields for growing bread, building villages and towns instead of swamps.
The history of melioration is connected with development of our republic, its achievements in the sphere of science and engineering, agriculture, training of highly skilled personnel. For sure, the current melioration system of republic is a great service of pioneers, veterans – meliorators, who founded the industry, who was increasing its efficiency, strengthening material and technical base, and overcoming hardships of the war and postwar time, and those who managed to maintain the industry in modern difficult period of economic reforms.
The republican agriculture is functioning in the area of risky farming and practice of 2010 showed that there are no alternative methods of irrigation in the period of draught. Thus, the work of meliorators seems to be more important.
Nowadays the priority activities are creation of new melioration objects, reconstruction and modernization of old irrigation systems. We realize that ensuring the country’s food security is guaranteed only when developing and strengthening melioration systems and we put high hopes on our meliorators.
I am sure that the potential, great experience you have, and the desire for work for the good of the native republic will let you fulfilling the set tasks successfully.
Let me express words of profound respect and gratitude for selfless work and wish employees of the Tatarstan melioration industry strong health, progress in work, well-being to your relatives and all the best!
