Rustam Minnikhanov: Our task is to provide reliable operation of housing and utilities sector

“Provision of regular operation of the housing and utilities sector in the heating period is one of the main tasks of the republican and municipal authorities,” President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said at a session of the RT Cabinet «On results of work of RT fuel -energy and utilities organizations for heating period 2011/2012 and tasks on preparing for heating period 2012/2013».
The session in video conference format chaired by the RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov was held at the RT Government House.
The PM said that experience of the last few years has shown quite responsible attitude of chiefs of municipalities, enterprises and organizations towards preparation for the heating period. At the same time, Ildar Khalikov reminded about three big accidents happened in Tatarstan during the last heating period stressing that accurate preparation for the heating season is important in summer.
Ildar Khalikov noted that not all municipalities had implemented decisions on organizing unified processing centers and equipping objects of social-cultural sphere with reserve energy supply systems.
Minister of construction, architecture, housing and utilities Irek Faizullin made report on outcomes of the last heating season and tasks for 2012-2013.
He noted that as compared to the period 2010/2011, high level of objects’ readiness was observed and less emergency shutoffs happened in republic for the reporting period. In general, municipalities provided heat supply at housing and social objects in time.
Irek Faizullin informed that in order to provide transparency of flow of funds paid by population, the decision was made to create unified processing centers which are now registered in all 45 municipal regions.
However, such centers are not functioning in all regions properly, the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stressed. He also reminded about planned tariffs raising from July 1.
The RT President focused on the need for staff training in the housing and utilities sector.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
