Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan holds good positions in realizing youth policy, presence of scientific and educational centers

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has met with winners and prize holders of contests, finalists of youth republican project “Staff reserve”, activists of children and youth public organizations. The meeting was dated to the Day of youth celebrated in Russia since 1993.
The event took place in the Representative building of the Kazan Kremlin with participation of 200 young people including foreign students from 12 countries.
Congratulating attendees on the Day of youth, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that it is the youth who are to make the future, develop and forward economy of Tatarstan. “We need highly skilled, educated specialists, therefore we put much emphasis on educational sphere,” he said.
The President reminded about having such structures as the federal university (Kazan (Volga) Federal University), two universities have obtained the status of national research universities (Kazan state technological university and Kazan state technical university).
“In general, Kazan, Tatarstan, and neighboring subjects have rich scientific and educational potential,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
In addition, he mentioned one project being implemented in republic that is meant to attract talented and advanced young people, - the innovative satellite town “Innopolis” being constructed near the Kazan city.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, republic holds good positions among federation subjects by many factors, including realization of youth policy, presence of scientific and educational centers, and development of innovative infrastructure.
The Tatarstan Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov presented a detailed report on projects and programs being adopted in republic in the sphere of youth policy.
Further, the RT President handed honorary badges for active work in the sphere of state youth policy to activists of youth public organizations and movements by results of realization of socially important projects for 2011-2012.
As the meeting proceeded, members of youth public organizations, clubs and movements made speeches.
Rustam Minnikhanov advised activists to expand areas of influence on young people, attract new staff, and be more active both in international and republican projects.
Totally, Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the youth republican project “Staff reserve” and suggested involving participants of the project in real work.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
On 31 March in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva hold a meeting of the Commission on the Russian language under the Rais of Tatarstan, which considered key issues of supporting and developing Russian language, including new educational initiatives and discussed programmes of popularization of Russian literature and activities to preserve the language heritage.
On 28 March, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Azat Ziganshin informed that the regional central cleaning up action will be held in the republic on 25 April and clarified that the location of the national cleanup day will be announced later as the site will be chosen taking into account the opinions of Tatarstan residents.
On 28 March, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional and the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin informed about statistics on the collection of utility bills payments from the population and data on the payment discipline of enterprises and organizations of the republic.
