President of Tatarstan takes part in “Selet” International youth forum

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the International youth educational forum “Selet” on the territory of Bilyarsk nature reserve in Alekseevsky region (the Republic of Tatarstan).

The annual festival was held for the 16th time. This year owing to the RT President’s support the festival has obtained the status of international educational forum. The event is held on July 4-10 in two historical places – Bolgar and Bilyarsk.

About 3000 young people, winners of republican subject academic competitions, creative contests and sport competitions, leaders of children’s and youth republican and All-Russia public organizations from 45 Tatarstan cities, participants of the OIC Youth forum, outstanding scientific, cultural, art, and public figures participated in the festival.

International activity of the “Selet” society, exhibition of “Selet” achievements representing projects and ideas on work with talented children and youth were demonstrated to Rustam Minnikhanov. Head of republic also attended master classes on areas “science and education”, “entrepreneurship”, “culture”.

The II Youth model of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation with participation of representatives of 45 world countries opened later on. Professor of the Malaysian Islamic university Serdar Demirel welcomed the audience.

Rustam Minnikhanov in his turn noted that the future is in hands of young people. “The future of our world depends on your decisions you will make. It is a great privilege for us to host this international forum in Tatarstan. Preservation of customs, culture, and religion, integration into global society are very important for us,” he said.

Secretary General of the OIC Youth forum Elshad Iskandarov thanked the republican leadership for hospitality and announced that “Selet” became a member of OIC youth forum. Then, he granted a certificate to President of the RT Student league Timur Suleimanov.
