President of Tatarstan holds extraordinary meeting with chiefs of municipalities

Republican leadership and law enforcement bodies will take severest measures in respect of persons promoting extremism in Tatarstan. Such a statement has been made by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the extraordinary meeting with chiefs of municipalities.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that extremism will be eradicated in Tatarstan. He promised to take severest measures in respect of persons who destabilize situation by supporting radical Islamic movements.
Head of republic promised to punish chiefs of municipalities who permit extremist behaviours on their territory. He reminded as well that the Russian President Vladimir Putin judged accidents happened in Kazan and by his order his Plenipotentiary in VFD Mikhail Babich came to Kazan.
“Nobody will let providing conditions for terrorism development in a peaceful, developing republic. It was a challenge addressed to the temporal power, not only Muslim religious leaders” Mikhail Babich said.
Plenipotentiary to the RF President in VFD asked chiefs of municipalities, religious leaders, and law enforcement bodies to analyze the situation thoroughly and take necessary measures to eradicate extremism.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
