Mintimer Shaimiev: “Our main task is improvement of Sviyazhsk island town”

Tatarstan’s State Counselor, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Republican Foundation for historical and cultural monuments revival Mintimer Shaimiev has made a working detour of Sviyazhsk island town and inspected objects under construction and restoration.

Mintimer Shaimiev was told about restoration works being implemented at the Virgin Dormition Monastery and the church “Consolation of All Who Sorrow”. He paid attention to restoration of paintings being performed by FGUP “Interregional scientific restoration art department”.

Tatarstan’s State Counselor also viewed restoration of the Gateway Church of the Dormition Monastery.

Mintimer Shaimiev inspected new water intake and sewage disposal facilities, territory improvement around historical monuments and new premises, construction of roads and pavements. He noted that the priority task today is to finish territory improvement of the island in order to create comfortable conditions for residents and visitors of Sviyazhsk.
