Alexander Novak: Preparation of power facilities for the autumn-winter period in the regions of the Volga Federal District runs according to schedule

Preparation of energy facilities for the autumn-winter period 2012-2013, in the regions of the Volga Federal District as a whole is on track. It was announced today in Kazan by RF Minister of Energy Alexander Novak.
Responding to questions from the media, Alexander Novak noted that this year special attention payed to the training of electric power facilities for winter period. Similar meetings in the North Caucasus, North West, Far East, Central Federal Districts are already passed. According to the head of the Ministry of Energy, meetings are held with the heads of the federal subjects, network and generating companies managers.
RT President Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, told reporters that there is a roadmap to prepare electric power facilities for the winter season, including the preparation of sports facilities in the upcoming Universiade in 2013. R. Minnikhanov recalled that "Kazan has always been energy deficient region, and the decision regarding to the construction of the transmission 500 kV line "Pomary - Udmurtia" will improve the situation in the energy supply of the Kazan region." R. Minnikhanov said that today the work on updating automation and transformers equipment in substations "Central" and "kindery" is in prosess.
Responding to questions from journalists, the head of the Ministry of Energy A. Novak reported that the proposals concerned with the safeguards for the budget organization are in Russian government and prepared for discussion. The possibility of more severe penalties for non-payment and increased administrative responsibilities is also considered. According to Alexander Novak the issue on support the administrative responsibility is encouraged, and will be modified in accordance with the current legislation.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
