Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Kazakhstan business delegation

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Chairman of Presidium of the National economic chamber of Kazakhstan “Atameken Union” Timur Kulibaev and members of the Kazakhstan business delegation.
The Kazakhstan business delegation arrived in Kazan with a two-day working visit. The republic’s major enterprises, economic and investment potential of Tatarstan will be presented to the guests. Prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan have been discussed at today’s meeting with the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Kazakhstan was Tatarstan’s major trade partner. In 2011 the bilateral foreign trade turnover made 90 mln dollars. OJSC KAMAZ is implementing a big project in Kazakhstan. The amount of investments in “KAMAZ-engineering” (the city of Kokshetau) made 10 mln dollars. 2600 vehicles are expected to be produced at the plant in 2012.
According to the Tatarstan President, OJSC ElAZ and OJSC Kazan helicopters are cooperating extensively with Kazakhstan.
Another perspective area is petrochemistry. The President believes that Tatarstan’s long experience in this sphere may be useful for Kazakhstan. Republic is also ready to share its best practices in oil production.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that expansion of relationships in transport sector was important.
President of Tatarstan thanked the Kazakhstan leadership for attention paid to 220 thousand Tatars. Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that Sabantui holiday had been successfully held in Aktyubinsk the previous summer.
Chairman of Presidium of the National economic chamber of Kazakhstan Timur Kulibaev thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for warm reception in Kazan saying he was sure that the current visit would favour further consolidation of relationships.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
