Elections of Tatarstan President to be held on 13 September, 2020

On June 11, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin took part in the tenth meeting of the regional State Council of the sixth convocation held by Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin.  

According to paragraph 16, of Article 75 of Tatarstan Constitution, Article 104.2, paragraph 1 of the Electoral Code of the republic, the elections of Tatarstan President are appointed by the State Council of the republic.

The meeting participants decided to schedule the elections of Tatarstan President for September 13, 2020.

After the publication of the Decree, the Presidential election campaign will be officially launched.

Initially there were 16 issues on the meeting’s agenda, but during the discussion, the agenda of the tenth meeting has expanded significantly and contained 40 issues.

Bills on the implementation of the regional budget and the budget of the Territorial Fund of Compulsory Medical Insurance for 2019, introduced by Tatarstan President were considered in the first reading.

Bills, which will amend the Budget Code of Tatarstan and the regional laws on investment activity, on additional restrictions on the time, conditions and places of retail sale of spirits (in terms of clarifying the requirements for the retail sale of spirits in public catering facilities located in apartment buildings), on the regulation of certain issues in road traffic, on individual measures to ensure the quality and safety of food (measures are being taken to ensure the quality and safety of food, materials and products), about the Commissioner for Human Rights in the republic, were prepared for the first reading.

A draft law on amendments to the regional subsoil law was introduced for consideration in the final third reading.

During the tenth meeting, a number of reports were heard.
