Concept of “SMART City Kazan” master plan presented to Tatarstan President

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and representatives of Malaysian consortium comprised of AJM Planning&Urban Design Group, Straits Consulting Engineers, AmanahCapitalGroupLimited (ACGL) have discussed the concept of “SMART City Kazan” master plan and further implementation of the project at Tatarstan Government House.
Chief architect of “SMART City Kazan” Norliza Hashim presented the master plan.
To the point, “SMART City Kazan” is a new urban environment for developing business, educational, and research activity in order to create incentives for perspective Tatarstan economic sector.
On behalf of Tatarstan Government the project is supervised by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the operator is OAO “Development Corporation of the Republic of Tatarstan”.
The project was developed by Malaysian consortium in cooperation with GUP “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt”.
“SMART City Kazan” is located in Laishevo region and occupies the area of 650 hectares. It is divided in four main zones: International public and business centre, Centre of education and science, Special economic zone, and Park zone. The Special economic zone is a part of SEZ “Innopolis”.
Chie executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov informed that development of the concept of master plan had been finished and the preliminary plan of potential investors had been developed.
Linar Yakupov reminded that within the framework of annual investment forum 2013 in Dubai the investment attraction campaign for “SMART City Kazan” project will be officially started.
Director General of OAO “Development Corporation of the Republic of Tatarstan” Bulat Gayanov presented statement of costs for engineering and road infrastructure to Rustam Minnikhanov.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the project is very perspective.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
