Aleksey Pesoshin: Sport aimed at improvement of skills of firefighters means thousands of saved lives

Speaking at a ceremony opening the All-Russian Fire Games for the Cup of the Tatarstan Prime Minister held in Kazan with participation of 400 people from 15 regions of Russia, the Russian Deputy Emergencies Minister Nikolay Grechushkin has said that the  fire-fighting and fire-rescue sports is the sports for strong and courageous people.

He said that all elements of this kind of sports later help firefighters and rescues teams to master their skills and perform their difficult job. “It is not just sports but rather a part of serious professional training”, - Grechushkin said.

In his turn Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that sports “aimed at improvement of the firefighters’ skills means thousands of saved lives and property, teamwork and efficiency in emergency situations”.

He added that Tatarstan has built a perfect sports infrastructure which makes it possible to decently represent our country and regions at competitions of any level.

He wished all participants of the Games good luck and success.
