On 22 September, speaking at the Governors’ round table “Digital Russia” at of the Kazan Digital Week Forum in Kazan, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov told about digital transformation of the republic.
He reminded that by a Decree of Russian President the digital transformation has been stated as one of five national development aims by 2023 and listed the main indicators to be reached by this year compared to 2019.
Shaykhutdinov said that the republic has reached the indicator of broadband internet access ahead of schedule and currently fiber optic lines and 3G and 4G mobile connection are accessible in more than 2 thousand settlements of the republic which covers 98 per cent of population.
He said that e-services indicator was also fulfilled in 2021 and the work in development of digital maturity of key branches of economy and social sphere is going on and by the results of the first six months of 2022 Tatarstan ranked the first among Russian regions
“The growth of investments into domestic IT solutions is provided in the republic by development of promising High-Tec spheres, support of domestic companies-leaders of the IT market and boosting the demand for their solutions as well as by creating environment for development of IT startups. For example, the republic has a separate city for IT specialists with the population of more than 6 thousand people and the Special Economic Zone of Innopolis with 325 operating companies employing 12 000 people and 153 of which are startups,” Roman Shaykhutdinov concluded.
