On 1 April, speaking at a regional meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic, the regional first Deputy Minister of Agriculture Nail Zalakov reported about preparations to the coming spring sowing campaign.
He said that many regions of the republic have begun spring farm work, in particular having started fertilization of winter crops and perennial grasses and harrowing bally crops.
Nail Zalakov said that there is sufficient supply of grain and leguminous seeds and as many as 49% of corn, 80% of sugar beet and 32% of sunflower seeds have been procured.
Simultaneously farms are completing the preparation of necessary agricultural machinery with 99 per cent of it being ready, he said.
