Rustam Minnikhanov holds session of Anti-corruption council

On September 12 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held session of Anti-corruption council on efficiency of anti-corruption measures in state authorities and municipal regions.

Opening the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the task to increase region’s investment potential and improve living standards of Kazan citizens is faced by Tatarstan leadership. To accomplish this task, well-coordinated work of all organisations and officials is required. He continued that creation of competitive environment is impossible without overall information and a serious work is being done in this area.

Rustam Minnikhanov gave statistics data of the Ministry of the Interior. He said that 1000 corruption crimes were revealed, and the damage exceeded 140 mln rubles. There are cases of bribes, lobbing and thefts. Cases of corruption were mostly revealed in the sphere of municipal economy, construction and land transactions. Rustam Minnikhanov supposes that activity of land speculators affects implementation of big investment projects.

Head of Anti-corruption department under Tatarstan President Mars Badrutdinov made report on anti-corruption situation in Tatarstan. Minister of the Interior Artem Khokhorin and Prosecutor Kafil Amirov also made reports at the session. They focused on additional measures to minimize losses from improper use of budget resources, corruption risks upon implementation of state programmes, use of state or municipal budget funds or property.

Members of the session also discussed violations in the sphere of municipal economy.

Summing up, recommendations to increase efficiency of anti-corruption measures in state authorities and municipal regions were accepted.

Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, heads of state bodies, territorial structures of federal authorities, law enforcement bodies, heads of municipal regions and city districts took part in the session.
