Tatarstan plans to harvest no less than 2n tonnes of sugar beet

On 5 October, speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin and regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities of the republic taking part in it via videoconference, the regional First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Lenar Garipov reported that farmers of the republic continue harvesting of rapes, sunflower, sugar beet, potatoes and other vegetables.

He said that it planned to harvest at least 2m tonnes of sugar beet and manufacture 240 thousand tonnes of sugar.

Lenar Garipov also informed that vegetables have been harvested from the area of 1 100 hectares which makes 57 per cent of the planned and winter crops have been sown on the area of 484 thousand hectares.

Having told that more than 1118 agricultural machines are working at soil preparation every day, he informed about conservation of fodder and silage.
