On 26 July, speaking at a meeting held by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported about progress of harvesting campaign, forage conservation and results of cattle breeding branch in the republic for the first six month of 2025.
He informed that practically all regions of the republic have started harvesting grain crops such as winter wheat, peas, barley and winter rye, having threshed 82 thousand hectares or 7% of the plan and threshing 388 thousand tons of grain with the average yield of 47.3 centners per hectare.
Marat Zyabbarov also said that due to enough water amount during the vegetation period, sufficient amount of fertilizers and protective measures, the moisture content of winter grain crops on the root is still high - on average about 26% in the republic.
He also reported that four regions of the republic have started harvesting winter canola with the average yield of about 30 centners per hectare and added that the main advantages of winter canola compared to the spring one are the higher yield, fewer expenses on pesticides and guaranteed sales.
Speaking about forage conservation, the regional Minister said that as of today 364 tonnes of hay (111% of the planned) and 2m 523 thousand tonnes of silage have been conserved and farmers in 38 regions have started second perennial grass hay cutting, while all private small farms have completed forage conservation.
Reporting about results of cattle breeding in the republic, Marat Zyabbarov said that1 million 166 thousand tons of milk, 235 thousand tons livestock and poultry have been slaughtered and 830.4m eggs have been produced at all farms.
In conclusion, the Minister of the republic told that six dairy complexes for 1825 cows have been already commissioned in the republic and 23 more for 20 thousand cows are at different stages of construction which will make it possible to produce additional 100 thousand tonnes of milk.
