Cooperation between Tatarstan and “Hewlett Packard” company

RT PM Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Director General of “Hewlett Packard” company (HP) in Russia, Mr Owen-Christopher Kemp with participation of RT Minister of economy Marat Safiullin, Minister of informatization and communications Farit Fazylzyanov, Head of Information and Analysis Department under RT Cabinet Aleksandr Yurtaev, Director General of Information Technologies Centre Nikolay Nikiforov, his deputy head of the department of info-communications, data protection and technical support Airat Khairullin.

“Republic is in need of cooperation with serious global companies as strategic partners to implement large-scale tasks. “Hewlett Packard” and Tatarstan are reliable partners ready for implementing such joint projects”, - Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.

Prime minister pointed out the main areas for cooperation between Tatarstan and HP. Firstly, it concerns the development and usage of information technologies in state, industrial and public sector, education and personnel training; secondly, construction of IT-techno park in Kazan and preparation for Universiade.

Mr. Kemp expressed interest in mentioned projects saying that the company plans to continue cooperation with republic, in developing relations with Tatarstan higher educational institutions. “Hewlett Packard” has been already cooperating with republic for some years. In 2005 RT government and HP signed a protocol of intentions in the sphere of information technologies development. In 2006 the 7th HP office opened in Kazan. In general there are 11 representative offices in Russia.

Nowadays, the HP is implementing various joint projects with such major industrial companies as JSC “Tatneft”, JSC “Kazanorgsintez”, JSC “Nizhnekamskneftehim”, the HP equipment and software is being used for implementation of the project “E-government of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

“Tatarstan enjoys all necessary resources, favorable economic and business climate”, - Owen Kemp said.
