Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is building new innovative knowledge-based economy

On June 30, at a plenary session of All-Russia meeting of heads of educational executive authorities of Russian regions (Kazan, Korston) on modern trends in educational development and objectives for 2014-2015, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is building new innovative knowledge-based economy.
The event was held by Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that summing up results of the academic year is an important event for country’s educational system and thanked for holding the meeting in Kazan. He informed that 1,500 comprehensive and 2, 000 preschool organizations are working in Tatarstan. The Educational Development Strategy 2010-2015 has been realized in the republic for the last four years.
Rustam Minnikhanov also told about providing additional places at preschool organizations. Educational organizations work in unified informational space in the system “Electronic education in the Republic of Tatarstan”, he added. The capital repair programme has been realized in the republic since 2012.
“One of main areas in our work is support of talented youth. Therefore, we open boarding schools for talented children from Tatarstan and Russian regions,” the President said.
According to the President, Tatarstan is one of leading regions in Russia by the number of winners of All-Russia school Olympiads. “Our task is to provide conditions for talented children so that they can realize their potential,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. Summing up, he wished successful work to participants of the plenary session.

In his address on the occasion of the Russian Science Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated scientists, researchers and lecturers of the republic with the event and wrote: “Science has always been and remains one of the main driving forces of progress and foundation for the development of economy, social sphere and education. Due to your talent, work and dedication to your vocation Tatarstan occupies the leading positions in many scientific spheres starting from petrochemical and IT technologies to biotechnologies and materials engineering. Today, based on glorious traditions of Russian and Tatarstan scientists, you are making a substantial contribution into ensuring scientific and technological sovereignty of Russia and solve the most important tasks of import replacement, digitalization and sustainable development.
On February 3, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of opening XXI All-Russia competitions in fire-rescue sports for the Cup of the Tatarstan Prime Minister, held in the gym of the Chief Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan with participation of 21 teams from various regions of Russia - a total of about 430 people.
On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
