Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of transport of Russia Igor Levitin signed memorandum on project order of objects design by “Foundation of Sviyazhsk inter-regional multi-modal logistics centre”

Document was signed in the course of meeting on issues of development of Kazan transport infrastructure during the process of preparing for the ХХVII World summer student games (Universiade) in 2013.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting. By his words Universiade 2013 may exceed winter Olympic Games - 2014in Sochi. He also reminded that student competitions in Tatarstan will be held a year before holding Olympic Games in Sochi. “We have to set an example and demonstrate our possibilities”, - Mintimer Shaimiev said.
Igor Levitin said that transport infrastructure should be distinguished in new technologies and modern road covering.

Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin reported about objects which have already been constructed and which are underway. Before Kazan the participants of Universiade (2011) will go to Chinese province Shandong. Thus, Tatarstan capital should correspond to high modern standards.

According to preliminary forecasts Kazan will receive 12 000 sportsmen form 170 countries all over the world, 1,5 thousand representatives of mass media, about 100 000 tourists. All kinds of transport will be used for receiving and transportation of guests. Many objects of transport infrastructure need to be reconstructed.
