Ildar Khalikov about strategy “Tatarstan-2030”: It is important that we do not start this process from scratch but continue work we have been doing for many years

On May 6, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on considering the project “On approving the strategy of social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030”.
Opening the session, Khalikov said that the strategy has been developed for two years in cooperation with experts of Leontief center. “This work started in a favourable economic period in Tatarstan and Russia. Nowadays the document is even more topical. It shows that systematization and setting of key goals are very important,” Ildar Khalikov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov set a task on developing a working document with the involvement of municipal authorities, the public, and all regional authorities. The bill on approval of the strategy with main ideas appeared as a result of expert discussions has been prepared.
Khalikov noted that before accepting the strategy a long-term forecast of social and economic development should be approved.
According to Khalikov, during realization of the strategy “Tatarstan-2030”, the GRP, industrial and agricultural production are expected to increase by 1.8 times, the turnover of retail trade – by 1.9 times, capital investments – by 1.7 times. By 2030 the volume of GRP is to exceed 5 trillion roubles, capital investments – 1.6 trillion roubles. As for social development, the population is expected to increase by 300, 000 people, life expectancy will make 75 years, the level of unemployment will not exceed 3.7 per cent.
Minister of economy of the republic Artem Zdunov made a report on main principles of the strategy “Tatarstan-2030” and long-term forecast of social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
