Today the whole world is celebrating the 55th anniversary of one of the greatest events in the human history – first manned flight into space.  Thanks to years of hard work of engineers, designers, test engineers the way to conquer the Universe was opened  on April 12, 1961. The greatness of the Russian science, patriotism of scientists, courage and heroism of pioneers who, through their work and talent managed to make a fantastic dream of people come true were showed to the whole world on that memorable day.

The first human space flight opened a new era in human development and laid the foundation for the practical exploration of the outer space.

This holiday is of particular importance for citizens of our republic. A number of Kazan military-industrial complex enterprises created devices for spacecrafts. The names of chief designers of space vehicles - Sergey Korolev, Nikolay Glushko and microbiologist of space Vasily Parin are related with the capital of Tatarstan. “We have a great number of achievements, and we should actively explore the space in the future using the resources of the domestic industry, but at the same time the space is a joint effort and manifestation of international solidarity.

Addressing workers of the space industry and all those involved in space history, modern development of manned space flight, I would like to mention that you are making a huge contribution to the promotion and dissemination of knowledge about space research. Let future generations remember their history, further extend the frontiers of their knowledge and make discoveries of cosmic scale!
