On June 2, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited some innovative industrial enterprises in Dresden.
EAST-4D Carbon Technology GmbH established by graduates of the Dresden Technical University develops, designs and manufactures products of fiber composite material using 4D technology.
The range of company products include light structures based on fiver carbon materials for aviation (Aerobus and Boeing planes), automotive (Rolls Royce), mechanical engineering and other applications, where high accuracy and maximum reliability of components are required.
The technology features the possibility to use such materials as carbon and iron and other materials together, as well as weight saving along with increased lift capacity (as compared with standard structures made of carbon fiber composite).
Employing about 50 people, the company turnover is over six million euros.
Then, Tatarstan delegation got acquainted with the work of Micromat GmbH, specializing in creation of technology and production of machine tools for high-precision cutting machining.
The machine tools of this company are used in the aerospace, energy and other industries. The production process is automated, but many processes are carried out by means of manual work such as surface treatment.
The company was founded in 1863 and is one of the oldest engineering companies in Germany. Today the company occupies a leading position on a par with the world's leading high-tech companies in the machine tool industry.
Since 1993 Micromat has cooperated with the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association. In 1994-1995 Micromat devidered 22 machine tools to the republic.
Employing about 200 people, the company turnover is over 12 million euros.
