Tatarstan President visits the Imam Reza shrine in Iran

On April 20, during his working visit to Mashhad, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Imam Reza shrine, the architectural complex, a major pilgrimage and tourist centre in Iran. Rustam Minnikhanov was told that 15-20 mln people visit this complex every year.

Rustam Minnikhanov also visited the historical library where 90,000 manuscripts including 20,000 precious copies of Quran Manuscript are kept.

Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the Imam Reza shrine and the Mosque. During his meeting with Chairman of the Foundation “Astan Quds Razavi” Ebrahim Raisi, Rustam Minnikhanov told that 20 mln people in Russia adhere to Islam, and there are 1,5 thousand mosques in Tatarstan. The Bolgar Islamic Academy is being built in Bolgar under the auspices of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tatarstan President informed about economic, industrial and investment potential of the republic focusing on the key industries.
