Rustam Minnikhanov in Nurlatsky region's fields: "About 300,000 tonnes have been threshed in the republic, this is not enough, but the harvest prospects are good"

10 August 2017, Thursday

On August 10, during his working trip to Nurlatsky region of the republic, Tatartan President Rustam Minnikhanov made a helicopter fly over the region's fields.

In the winter wheat field of Suleimanov A. I. farm enterprise, Minnikhanov met farm machinery operators involved in the harvesting, managers and investors of the agroindustrial complex, and heads of rural settlements of Nurlatsky municipal region, who informed him about the progress of the harvesting in the region.

Head of Nurlatsky region Ravil Kuzyurov said that the area under crops makes 75,000 hectares, 38,500 hectares of which are grain crops. To date, 15 per cent of the areas have been harvested. About 25,000 tonnes of grain have been threshed with an average yield of about 50 centners per hectare.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, who also took part in the meeting, appreciated the progress of the harvesting campaign in region. "Keep up the good work. You organized work well in spring and now you have shown high threshing results,” Akhmetov commented. “The harvest forecasts are good, although there are some serious competitors. You have started perfectly, and you should complete the harvesting campaign in the same manner," he added.

In his turn, answering questions from journalists, Minnikhanov said that the harvesting started late this year. "We have been harvesting fully for only three days in the republic," he said. “About 300,000 tonnes have been harvested, this is not enough, but the harvest prospects are good. It is expected that we will harvest 10-15 centners per hectare more than last year. The main thing now is to get all the crops in," he continued.

Minnikhanov also said about measures to stimulate the work of combine operators during the harvesting period. "To encourage our combine operators and for successful organization of work, we announced 200 grants amounting to 100,000 roubles each for best workers, for those who will work most actively," Minnikhanov said. “This will add the work a competitive spirit. Moreover, the regions have their own measures to support combine operators, all this will promote the grain harvest," he said.
