Rustam Minnikhanov meets Akim of Almata region Amandyk Batalov

On August 25, during his working visit to Kazakhstan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Akim of Almata region Amandyk Batalov.

Batalov welcomed the delegation of Tatarstan in Almaty region and thanked Minnikhanov for accepting the invitation. "I appreciate you taking the time to visit our region,” Akim of Almaty region said and expressed his hope that joint work and interaction will yield results. "Tatarstan is economically developed in terms of industry and new technologies, and we would like to adapt a lot of your technologies in our region,” Batalov said.

Minnikhanov said in response that he was pleased to accept the invitation to come to Almaty region.  

He also noted that relations between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan are dynamically developing with the support of the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan. "We regard Kazakhstan as our strategic partner. We will continue to develop our relations," Minnikhanov said.

As noted at the meeting, there has been a trend towards increasing Tatarstan-Kazakhstan trade turnover this year. In the first half of 2017, it went up by 1.25 times as compared with the same period last year.

The parties identified potential areas for economic cooperation between the two regions, including engineering, helicopter engineering, power engineering, petrochemicals, IT and high technologies, agriculture, and other spheres.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov invited representatives of the leadership of Almaty region, athletes and fans of Kazakhstan to attend major sports events that will take place in the capital of Tatarstan such as FIFA World Cup 2018, WorldSkills Competition in 2019 and World Aquatics Championships in 2020.
