On May 17, at the invitation of Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov became honourable guests of the 5th Open Championship of the Chechen Republic in tactical shooting among special forces units. The championship is dedicated to the memory of the Hero of Russia, First President Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov.

On May 16, at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina informed that the capital of Tatarstan will host the International economic summit of Russian and OIC for the ninth time. The summit has become the main place for economic interaction between Russian regions and Islamic states. Twice as much guests are expected to take part in the summit, 2017 people have already sent their attendance requests.
