Dmitry Medvedev gets acquainted with activity of aircraft plant in Kazan

The Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev has visited the Kazan aircraft production association (KAPO) named after Gorbunov, got acquainted with its activity, spoke to workers and learnt about developments of the Tatarstan aircraft industry.
Dmitry Medvedev started from viewing the aircraft machinery under repair and modernization. Head of the United aircraft corporation Mikhail Pogosyan and Director of the plant Vasil Kayumov told about the equipment.
The Premier was told that the venture focuses on construction of special aircrafts based on Tu-214, and maintenance of flight worthiness of strategic aircrafts.
The aircraft Tu-214 “Skan” which is to be passed to a special aircraft division “Russia” was shown to Dmitry Medvedev. The aircraft is now being modernized.
Moreover, relay aircrafts Tu-214 which serve as a starting point when implementing special operations were presented to the PM.
Head of the Cabinet also learnt about modernization of military aircrafts.
Plans on modernization and development of the enterprise and projects of cooperation with other companies in the industry were presented to the Prime Minister.
Production of aircraft items using composite materials was demonstrated specially for Dmitry Medvedev. Afterwards, the PM heard information about a variety of research and production ventures in the sphere of aviation and acquainted with some of their developments. In particular, studies of the Kazan scientific research university were presented to Dmitry Medvedev.
Later on, Head of the RF Cabinet went to the meeting on issues of strategic aviation.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
