Albert Gilmutdinov becomes acting rector of Kazan national research technical university named after A.N.Tupolev

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with members of the Academic Council of the Kazan national research technical university named after A.N.Tupolev. The meeting was held at the RT Government House with participation of Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Head of the RT Presidential Staff Yuri Kamaltynov.
The meeting was aimed at discussion of the current situation and the letter addressed to Rustam Minnikhanov regarding dissatisfaction with actions of Nikolai Arbukov - Acting rector of Kazan national research technical university named after A.N.Tupolev. President of the university Gennady Degtyarev presented the university opposition at the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that a difficult situation is really observed at the university. He emphasized that without sustainable development of education and research activity we would not be able to realize new tasks faced by the higher education.
“We must raise the level of our industrial enterprises, i.e. KAPO named after Gorbunov, Kazan helicopters plant, develop automobile sector, engine plant, shipbuilding plant named after Gorky, and other enterprises. All of them are filled with specialists trained at the Kazan national research technical university,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
The Tatarstan President reminded that serious positive changes happened at the university within the last few years, - it obtained the status of the national research university, material and technical base was improved.
Unfortunately, personnel changes were not so efficient. Rustam Minnikhanov supposes that a person who will unite professorate, create conditions for further development of the university and strengthen the status of one of the leading universities in the country must be at the head of the university.
Rustam Minnikhanov suggested considering Albert Gilmutdinov for the post of acting rector of Kazan national research technical university named after A.N.Tupolev. Members of the Academic Council supported the candidacy of Albert Gilmutdinov. They also said that they are ready to tackle tasks set by the republican leadership.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed as well that on September 21 Albert Gilmutdinov will be officially introduced as the acting rector of Kazan national research technical university named after A.N.Tupolev.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
