27 November 2012, Tuesday

“Establishment of Russia’s first nanocenter in Kazan should help realising a wide range of new nanotechnological projects,” Board Chairman of OAO “ROSNANO” Anatoly Chubais said at the official opening ceremony. The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the event.

First nanotechnological center in Russia was established in Kazan in technopark “Idea” and technopolis “Himgrad”. It is aimed at commercialization of innovative projects at early stages, assessment, consulting, and leasing of special technological and analytical equipment.

Innovative startup companies are able to use this equipment upon developing their materials and creating technological chain. Thus, commercialization costs will considerably decrease since companies will not have to establish their own laboratories.

Creation of the nanocenter cost 3,8 bln roubles. OAO “ROSNANO” co-financing part made 1,8 bln roubles.

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board Chairman of OAO “ROSNANO” Anatoly Chubais saw the new center around and got familiar with advanced developments in nanoindustry.

Director General of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin told about cooperation with nanocenter under the project “Clean water”.
Anatoly Chubais expressed confidence that the innovative sphere of nanotechnologies would become one more traditional industry in Tatarstan.

President of Tatarstan thanked Anatoly Chubais for the decision to establish nanocenter in Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan was the region where new materials were produced and used. He added that nanotechnological developments should be applied in industry.

The Tatarstan President thanked everyone who participated in creation of the nanocenter and expressed his hope for development of many interesting projects in the center that would be realised in Tatarstan and outside republic.
