Production of polymer additives for asphalt suggested in Tatarstan

On January 21 prospects of production of polymer-modified asphalt cement additives for bitumen-concrete mixture in Tatarstan were discussed at a round table chaired by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Roads.
Director General of Italian group of companies “MASSENZA” Diego Massenza made a presentation of polymer-modified asphalt cement production technology using MASSENZA plant. He said that the use of polymer-modified asphalt cement additives for bitumen-concrete mixture would make it possible to lower costs for current repair works due to rutting and cracking resistance, as well as reduce repair expenses for road surface and extend its life time by 2 times.
To the point, OAO “Gazpromneft” is the leading manufacturer of polymer-modified asphalt cement in Russia, in particular, Omsk refinery, where MASSENZA complex emulsion-modified plant is mounted.
Participants of the round table also discussed the possibility of production of polymer-modified asphalt cement additives in Tatarstan.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov asked to carry out the pilot introduction of the suggested technologies to the regional road facilities for detailed analysis of prospects and possibilities of their further implementation.
Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, Director General of OAO “Tatneft” Nail Maganov, Board Chairman of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” Vladimir Busygin, Director General of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin and other specialists in the sphere of petrochemistry and road construction took part in the event.
In his address on the occasion of the Russian Science Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated scientists, researchers and lecturers of the republic with the event and wrote: “Science has always been and remains one of the main driving forces of progress and foundation for the development of economy, social sphere and education. On February 3, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of opening XXI All-Russia competitions in fire-rescue sports for the Cup of the Tatarstan Prime Minister, held in the gym of the Chief Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan with participation of 21 teams from various regions of Russia - a total of about 430 people.
On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
