Ildar Khalikov meets with President of International Weightlifting Federation

On June 26, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with President of International Weightlifting Federation Tamás Aján at Tatarstan Government House.
Tamás Aján arrived in Kazan to take part in the congress of International Weightlifting Federation, being held in the capital of the republic. The congress, which brought together 200 delegates, is dedicated to the World Junior Weightlifting Championship, being held in Kazan these days.
During the meeting, Tamás Aján thanked Tatarstan leadership for developing the weightlifting in Russian and worldwide, as well as for holding the World Championship among juniors up to 20 years old at the highest level.
Ildar Khalikov and Tamás Aján discussed prospects of holding new large international weightlifting competitions in Kazan. Tamás Aján said that the International Weightlifting Federation is willing to consider Kazan as a candidate to host the World Championship among men and women in 2017-2018. Ildar Khalikov, in his turn, pointed out that after the Universiade Kazan is able to host competitions of the highest level.
Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Rafis Burganov, President of the Russian Weightlifting Federation Sergey Syrtsov and Senior Coach of junior weightlifting Russian team Nikolay Kolesnikov took part in the meeting.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
