On September 26, during his working visit to Montreal (Canada), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the activity of Pratt&Whitney aerospace manufacturer.

Being a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (USA), Pratt & Whitney is a global manufacturer of aircraft engines for civil and military aviation. The company is included in the 'big three' aero-engine manufacturers together with Rolls-Royce and General Electric. Pratt & Whitney also produces modular and mobile gas turbines for industrial purposes, locomotive engines, rocket engines and so forth.

Tatarstan and the Canadian company have cooperated since 1993. Pratt & Whitney supplies its engines to Kazan Helicopter Plant for Ansat serial helicopters.

President of Pratt & Whitney John Saabas briefly told about the history of the company and main stages of its development.

Then, Minnikhanov visited the production facilities of the plant. In particular, he visited the workshop of preflight trial of engines and saw samples of the finished products.

At the end of his visit, Minnikhanov thanked the management of the company for the opportunity to visit the factory in Montreal and said that Tatarstan is satisfied with the current level of business relationship with Pratt & Whitney. "I am sure together we can continue our further productive cooperation," he said.
