Rustam Minnikhanov offers Bombardier to localize its production facilities in Tatarstan

On September 26, during a working visit of Tatarstan delegation to Canada, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Bombardier aircraft manufacturer in Montreal.

At the entrance to the head office, Minnikhanov was met by President of Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services Jean Seguin, who made a brief presentation about economic potential of the company and plans for further development of production.

Jean Seguin noted that the main task, which a Canadian manufacturer is facing now is to enter the market of medium-range aircrafts, which is still under full control of the Boeing and Airbus. Bombardier is ready to offer medium-range aircraft CS100, which is able to accommodate from 100 to 125 passengers, and the CS300 - from 120 to 145. According to officials of the company, these models are more fuel-efficient as compared to their main competitors.

Minnikhanov asked about the company plans to localize its production facilities in Russia. He noted that Tatarstan have all conditions for this purpose, including an infrastructure, highly skilled specialists, well-developed logistics and so on.

Minnikhanov invited Bombardier leadership of Tatarstan to get acquainted with the investment potential of the region.
