Rustam Minnikhanov invites businessmen from Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes to Tatarstan

On November 30, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov invited businessmen from Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes (France) to Tatarstan.

The working group on the visit will be created by results of negotiations between Rustam Minnikhanov and Vice-president of the Regional council of Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes Philippe Meunier.

Minnikhanov said that the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and France has considerably decreased; however, there are opportunities for development of cooperation. Cooperation between the countries on the interregional level can give impetus to normalization of the situation and consolidation of economy.

Tatarstan President briefly told about main economic sectors of the region noting that cooperation with French colleagues should be developed in the sphere of culture, tourism and sport.

Speaking about the forthcoming visit of businessmen from Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes to Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov offered to organize the visit in summer to see the Tatar national holiday Sabantui, assess cultural traditions and identity of the region.

Philippe Meunier said that cooperation should be developed in the sphere of science and education.

The decision about creating a working group for defining areas of cooperation and implementation of joint projects was made by results of the meeting.
