New Tatar children’s TV channel to be created in Tatarstan

On December 9, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov held a session of the working group on issues of functioning and development of the Tatar language in Tatarstan.

The working group consisted of representatives of regional authorities, higher educational institutions, public organizations, and scientific community.

The session discussed training of the teaching staff for national schools, development of pre-school education, increasing of the Tatar segment in the Internet, in particular, the creation of Tatar children’s TV channel.

A special working group will develop the concept and name of the TV channel, and organize the contest for best projects of TV programmes for the age group 0+.
