Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food: Tatarstan's machine and tractor fleet will be updated for the sum of 8 billion roubles in 2017

On December 17, speaking at a regional meeting held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Government House of the rebublic, Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov reported on the state of technical equipment of regional agro-industrial complex.

Akhmetov noted that under the State Agriculture Development Programme until 2020 an eighteen-percent growth in total output of agricultural products should be provided as compared to this year's level. The Minister said that he is sure that it will be very difficult to solve this task without proper technical support. The available technical equipment is well-worn and in the last decade it has been updated mainly due to leasing supplies and regional programmes.

According to Akhmetov, for the last three years 1097 tractors, 365 combine harvesters, 146 forage harvesters have been bought in the republic. At the same time, the level of technical equipment is low in some municipalities.

“A task has been set to update machine and tractor fleet of the republic for the sum of eight billion roubles in 2017,” Akhmetov summed up.
