On March 13, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of Russia Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov with governors of five Russian regions.
Heads of such country's regions as Tatarstan, Altai Territory, Yakutia, Bashkiria, and Khakassia took part in the meeting, which was held at the guest mansion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The meeting discussed external contacts of Russian regions, issues related to the development of public diplomacy, work of regions to unite compatriots living worldwide, as well as further steps to strengthen humanitarian ties.
According to the specialists of the Russian Foreign Ministry, public diplomacy plays a serious role in diplomacy. For example, it provides significant assistance in cooperation with UNESCO.
Minnikhanov also had a bilateral meeting with Sergey Lavrov.
