Head of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations takes part in the opening of the fire-fighting unit in the city of Innopolis

On April 18, in the afternoon, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation Vladimir Puchkov, accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials, visited the city of Innopolis (Tatarstan), where he took part in the opening of the fire-fighting unit No. 8.

Puchkov was told about the history of the creation of Innopolis and was demonstrated the developing infrastructure of the city.

Speaking at the opening of a new facility the Minister said that "Innopolis is a symbol of the new Russia, where all the necessary conditions for the training and education of specialists in the sphere of information technology were created in the open fields in a short time. The best IT specialists of the country work here."

According to Puchkov, setting up a system for life safety is equally important along with the creation of comfortable living conditions, the construction of modern housing and roads, parks and campuses.

In his turn, Minnikhanov reminded that much has been done in Innopolis, including an extensive infrastructure. "All this will work and prosper if security is ensured," Minnikhanov said. "And the fire-fighting unit is very important and necessary here,” he said.

Tatarstan President thanked senior officials of the Russia's Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief for their support.

The fire-fighting unit No. 8 was built in 2016. Its area is more than 2,000 square meters. The fire station, employing 50 people, occupies two floors of a building that includes a basement floor.
