Rustam Minnikhanov meets with President of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky

On May 25, at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Rostelecom (Russia's long-distance telephony provider) Mikhail Oseevsky discussed the development of the telecommunications infrastructure in the region, implementation of joint projects, including elimination of digital inequality.

Also, in the presence of Minnikhanov, Minister of Informatization and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, President of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky and General Director of Tattelecom (Tatarstan's long-distance telephony provider) Lutfulla Shafigullin signed a protocol of intentions between the Ministry of Informatization and Communications of Tatarstan, Rostelecom and Tattelecom.

According to the protocol, the parties plan to jointly develop a project for the construction of a test zone of the fifth generation mobile network in Tatarstan, as well as to solve issues of providing resources for communication networks and radio frequency, obtaining all necessary permits for the use of frequencies and equipment in the test zone.The parties intend to agree on a plan of actions and investment within six months.
