Klaus Schwab suggests organizing special session dedicated to Tatarstan at the next World economic forum in Davos

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of World economic forum Klaus Schwab in St.Petersburg. The meeting took place in negotiations hall of hotel “Kempinski” (St.Petersburg, Moika, 22).
Aide to RT President on international issues – Director for Department of external relations Iskander Muflikhanov, Head of Agency for investment development Linar Yakupov took part in the event.
Klaus Schwab and Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged impressions about the last World economic forum in Davos (January 2011) and discussed questions that would be raised within the frameworks of XV annual International economic forum in St.Petersburg (June 16-18, 2011).
Klaus Schwab noted that Tatarstan as one of economically developed regions in RF “has now entered the family of Davos forum”. He suggested organizing special session dedicated to Tatarstan at the next World economic forum to present republican economy, its dynamic development and achievements in industrial sector and creation of favorable investment climate.
In the course of meeting Klaus Schwab and Rustam Minnikhanov agreed that President of World economic forum would visit Kazan with working visit in 2011.
Klaus Schwab has already visited Kazan in September 2008.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
