Vladimir Putin attends Tatarstan's display at EXPO-2017

On June 9, during the opening ceremony of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and members of the Russian delegation attended the Russian pavilion, with Tatarstan being the general partner of the first thematic week from the 10th to 18th of June.

Minnikhanov presented the Tatarstan's display to the honoured guests and briefly told them about the leading enterprises of the region that make a tangible contribution to the development of the Russian economy and cooperate with the Republic of Kazakhstan. Minnikhanov and Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky are the only regional heads that were included in the official delegation of Russia at EXPO-2017.

Putin thanked Minnikhanov for his active participation in organizing the Russian pavilion at EXPO-2017 and wished Tatarstan further success in attracting investments to the economy of the region and the country as a whole.

The main theme of EXPO-2017 is “Energy of the Future”. It reflects the preoccupation of the international community with the problem of energy consumption, which is having an increasing impact on our planet. The main objective of the exhibition is to call for responsibility, to foster a discussion and to develop knowledge enabling people to plan and control energy consumption on our planet and to minimize damage to the environment.

The International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana will start its work on June 10, 2017 and will end on September 10, 2017. It is expected that 2 million visitors will attend the exhibition, will the total number of visits making about 5 million. More than 100 countries and international organizations took part in preparation of pavilions at EXPO-2017.

The first thematic week sponsored by Tatarstan is titled “Human energy is the driver of international cooperation in technological development”. The regional exposition stand occupies a total area of 88 square meters.

The theme of the week will be covered through images of real specialists of the largest Tatarstan companies (Tatneft, TAIF, KAMAZ, Tatenergo, Ak Bars Holding, etc.), which made a significant contribution to the development of the industry. Moreover, the week will feature an eventful business programme, including an international conference "New Energy: Investments and Partnerships."
